Here’s how to find both the basic and advanced Swordmaster trainers in Dune Awakening, with step-by-step directions and quest info.
In Dune: Awakening, your class choice plays a big role in how you survive and fight across the deserts of Arrakis. The game offers five distinct classes, Trooper, Mentat, Planetologist, Bene Gesserit, and Swordmaster, each with its own abilities and skill trees that shape your playstyle.
This guide is all about the Swordmaster. If you’re ready to fight up close with blades and powerful counters, here’s everything you need to know about unlocking the class and where to find both the basic and advanced trainers in the game.

How To Unlock the Swordmaster Class in Dune Awakening
To get started with the Swordmaster class, you’ll first need to track down its trainer out in the wilds of Arrakis. Like the other classes, Swordmaster isn’t unlocked by default; you’ll need to complete a set of quests tied to the trainer before you gain access to its skills.
The process begins with an NPC character named Arno, who is the Basic Swordmaster Trainer. Once you find him and complete his initial questline, the first tier of Swordmaster skills becomes available on your character. After that, if you want to unlock higher levels of those abilities, you’ll need to visit a second trainer, Seron Varlin, who handles advanced training.

Swordmaster Basic Trainer Location
The Basic Swordmaster Trainer is located at Pinnacle Station, which sits far to the north of the map. You’ll find it just past Helius Gate, and north of the Pallas Shipwreck area.
This region is no joke; it’s got tougher enemies, harsh heat, and other environmental hazards that will make you burn through your water faster. Come prepared before making the trip.
To reach Pinnacle Station, start by heading north from Helius Gate. Instead of climbing up the large rock wall nearby, stick to the sandbike-accessible path. It’ll bend east for a bit, then turn back north. Keep going and you’ll eventually come across a tall, well-lit cliff face, that’s Pinnacle Station.
Look for a glowing blue light near an NPC named Arno. He’s your trainer. Speak to him to begin a quest. Completing his missions will unlock the Swordmaster skill tree on your character.

Swordmaster Advanced Trainer Location
After finishing Arno’s questline and unlocking the basic Swordmaster skills, you’ll want to improve them; that’s where the advanced trainer comes in.
The Advanced Swordmaster Trainer, Seron Varlin, can be found in Harko Village, the Harkonnen social hub.
Getting to Harko Village isn’t a quick run. You’ll need to fly there using your own Ornithopter. Once you arrive, head straight down the main street, past a red hologram near Hannivar’s building.
Just before you reach the back exit of the village, turn left. In a shaded area under a simple shelter, you’ll spot Seron Varlin; he’s the one wearing a blindfold. Talk to him to pick up a new quest chain. Completing these quests will let you upgrade your Swordmaster abilities beyond the basics you unlocked from Arno.

Once you’ve unlocked both levels of training, your Swordmaster journey really begins. From there, you can start exploring each skill tree, learn how to build your loadout, and figure out what kind of Swordmaster you want to become: aggressive, defensive, or balanced.
