In this guide, we’re focusing on the Trooper class, how to unlock it, where to find its trainer, and how to continue progressing through its advanced skill path. We’ll keep it simple and walk you through exactly what to do.

How To Unlock the Trooper Class in Dune Awakening

To get started with the Trooper class, you’ll need to visit the basic trainer NPC and complete a specific class questline. This unlocks the Trooper skill tree and gives you access to your first ability, Shigawire Claw, which lets you grapple across the environment or stagger enemies in combat.

After finishing the first quest, you’ll begin unlocking your initial Trooper abilities across three categories: Gunnery, Suspensor Training, and Tactical Tech. You’ll need to keep progressing through the class-specific quest chain to unlock more nodes in the tree.

Eventually, once you’ve advanced far enough, a new objective will guide you toward the advanced trainer, who unlocks the full tree and final perks.

Trooper Basic Trainer Location

To kick off your journey as a Trooper, you’ll first need to meet Ghavouri, the basic Trooper trainer. You can find him early on at Griffin’s Trading Outpost, which is fairly close to your starting area.

Ghavouri isn’t exactly the friendliest face you’ll meet, but he knows how to shape a survivor. After a bit of back-and-forth, he’ll give you a quest called Proving Grounds, where you’ll need to track down and eliminate some old enemies. Completing this quest will officially unlock the Trooper skill tree and give you access to your first abilities.

Once that’s done, you’ll start progressing through the class path, unlocking more skills as you go.

Trooper Advanced Trainer Location

Later in the game, after completing a few Trooper quests and leveling up your class progress, you’ll be sent to meet the advanced trainer, Kara Valk. She’s located inside the city of Arrakeen, and like Ghavouri, she isn’t too impressed with newcomers.

To find Kara, head through the main gates of Arrakeen. Once inside, go up the stairs to the second floor, then take a left. She’s standing in a side room, easy to miss if you’re not watching your minimap.

After another round of sarcasm, Kara will assign you the quest Seeking Control. This mission sends you into a slaver base, where you’ll need to find two transmitters and make it out alive. Once you turn the quest in, Kara will unlock your advanced Trooper abilities, expanding your skill tree with powerful new options.

Once you’ve unlocked the full tree and gathered a few skill upgrades, the Trooper class becomes one of the most well-rounded picks for players who like mobility, ranged firepower, and solid utility tools.
